Identity Design

An online technical school, the Cypher Institute is offering specialized training and board certifications in online investigations, dark net, cyber warfare, and open source intelligence collections.

The goal was to create a modern icon - an identifiable badge - that reflects honor and trust, reminiscent of that of law enforcement, and still approachable for anyone from parents trying to figure out who is bullying their child online, to law enforcement trying to gain new skills to help their investigations.

The logo is based on the letter C, and comprised of a key (=cypher), magnifying glass, view finder and webcam. You can also see a compass (moral) and a reload button if you will.
